12/9 CBS2 Tuesday Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS 2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning all,

Today is a not a good day to be outside. Raw, cold rain will pummel the Tri-State.

Coastal communities will need to be on alert all day. A classic nor'easter will bear down us tomorrow and Wednesday, sweeping onshore and probably causing some beach erosion.

Around 7 to 8 a.m., steadier rain will come onshore and increase in intensity until 3 or 4 p.m. Winds will be gusting near 60 mph at the peak, but all the way out east (Montauk).

Winds will still be gusting to 40+ for all, but it's especially fun out there.

Snow... well, this really isn't a big snowstorm for our immediate area. One must travel up to the tips of Sullivan, or Ulster County in New York to see some significant snow.

Check in all day today for the latest alerts and updates. We're very busy here in the CBS2 Weather Center.
