12/9 CBS2 Tuesday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis
CBS2 Meteorologist

Hello, everyone...

The rain will persist into the afternoon with the focus of the heavier rain across the northern/eastern half of the area. And there's still the chance we could see some localized flooding, so do be mindful of that as you head out.

Winds will peak this afternoon with 40-50 mph gusts expected (the strongest will be across eastern Long Island). And coastal communities are still at risk for flooding into the afternoon as we observe our high tides.

It will still be blustery into tonight with lingering rain showers (mix/snow showers N&W).

Our low will continue to spin just to our northeast/north through Thursday, so expect at least a chance of showers the next couple of days with snow showers and some mixing inland.
