1/29 CBS2 Thursday Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning everyone,

I must sound like broken record! Cold! Cold! Cold! All around the Tri-State, temps are 5-8 degrees colder than normal.

Thank the snowpack. And yes, the deeper the snowpack, the colder it will remain.

But some good news -- the silver lining today would be a relatively milder high temp. We top off in the mid to upper 30s.

A slight warm front lifts through as we have an Alberta clipper slide by. Generally, a coating to 2 inches is expected with some receiving locally higher amounts of you live north.

This weekend is looking pretty good. Cold, blue skies for just about both days. Late clouds will push in Sunday.

There is a strong coastal system that looks to be heading south of us for now. We will monitor closely.
