1/25 CBS2 Sunday Morning Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre Jr, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning everybody! Today is shaping up to be a much better day than yesterday, but it won't be without its issues. A subfreezing start will mean icy roads so give yourself extra time if you'll be out and about. Expect a high of 38 around town. We'll also have a temporary break before a stormy start to the work week. A clipper will move through Monday bringing a dusting to a few inches. I think the bigger story is temps Monday, with a high of only 27 in NYC and much colder in suburbs.

The signals for a powerful coastal storm late Monday night/Tuesday are getting stronger. Too early to mention specific numbers, but many folks from NYC east could easily have a repeat of today...maybe even more. Winds will be howlin' too, with gusts over 40 mph possible. It remains to be seen just how strong this storm will be, but we'll keep you posted. It will be another frigid day with a high of only 25 in NYC and wind chills in the single digits/teens - YIKES!

We'll keep you posted on this next storm in the pipeline.
