1/24: CBS2 Saturday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Afternoon all,

The heaviest precip is now out of here, and we're left with some lingering rain and snow across the region for this afternoon. The last of the rain/snow will move offshore following sunset, and we quickly clear out later this evening and overnight. Before the rain, totals generally ranged from around 3" in Manhattan to 8"+ in parts of NW NJ.

The second half of the weekend looks great, with partly sunny skies tomorrow and a seasonable high of 38 in the city.

Overnight Sunday and into Monday is what we're watching for our next chance of some precip. With much colder air in place, this would be an all snow event. The models have been moving back and forth, with the city right on the northern edge of this clipper at times. With today's coastal low becoming history, we'll have a better handle on Monday as we head into tonight and tomorrow.

Tuesday is looking mostly sunny, but very cold and breezy with highs only reaching the mid 20s. That winter feel will definitely be making a comeback!

Check back in soon for the latest on Monday's snow chance.
