12/28 CBS2 Sunday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Sunday afternoon,

Cloudy skies will continue across the area, with some passing showers. It's more of a nuisance than anything, but you'll probably want to keep the umbrella nearby just in case. We'll top out at 50 in the city today, and this will unfortunately be the last of the warmer days. If you're headed out to the Giants-Eagles game over at MetLife Stadium, expect the same for kickoff with northwest winds.

Mostly cloudy skies tonight, becoming partly cloudy toward dawn. Temps will drop to the upper 30s for NYC, upper 20s for the northwestern burbs.

Monday is looking dry overall, with a mix of sun and clouds. There are a few systems that will pass to our south over the next couple of days, and right now they look to stay down there. Just worth noting that the further south you are, the better chance of clouds and maybe even a sprinkle or flurry. As of now, I think most will remain dry under partly sunny skies. Highs Monday will be in the low to mid 40s.

Another cold front moves through heading into Tuesday, and it will finally start feeling like winter around here! Mostly sunny skies on Tuesday, but highs will only reach the mid 30s.

As for New Year's Eve... DRY! That's the upside. The downside is it will be cold, with highs barely reaching the freezing mark on Wednesday. The forecast for midnight in Times Square looks like partly cloudy with temps in the upper 20s. Dress warmly if you're headed out to ring in 2015!

Be sure to check back in soon for the latest forecast.
