12/24 CBS2 Wednesday Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS 2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Today is wet, damp, and foggy.  A tropical bite is headed our way with some near record temps possible.  I doubt we'll break them, but we'll get close enough to mention it.

Rain will be on & off today with steadier, heavier showers picking up after 12/1pm.  It;s not an all day washout, but you will feel that misty, mild, fog all day.

There are a few embedded storms in this system.  But nowhere near the severity or intensity that was seen in the south.  Rainfall amounts between .5 & 1.5".  If you live on Long Island you can see some of the highest rain totals b/c of your ocean influence.

Winds will be gusty into Christmas.  Although we clear the storm Christmas afternoon, winds will still cause trouble with the airports.

Friday is a December treat and Saturday is even better.  Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all, and stay dry!
