12/23 CBS2 Wednesday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis
CBS2 Meteorologist

Periods of rain will move through this afternoon and into tonight... can't even rule out a rumble of thunder into this evening. It should quiet down a bit into the second half of the night, but our temps will hold steady or warm up slightly as we head towards daybreak.

There's still about a 30% chance of showers on Christmas Eve, but the main story will be the temperatures... we're talking record-shattering low 70's in Central Park! But as you can imagine, temperatures will be soaring elsewhere, so numerous records will likely be broken.

Into Christmas Day we'll cool down a little bit and see some more sun, but there could be a little rain into the evening... will monitor over the next few days.

Check back for more on this unseasonably warm holiday week!
