12/20: CBS2 Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre Jr, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Woo-hoo, it's the weekend! Although it won't be warm by any stretch today, it'll be a dry day. Temps will hit the upper 30s in NYC for a high with spots outside the city colder than that. For tonight, a few sprinkles/flurries may hit the east end of LI, part of a storm that will slide well south. Sunday will feature decreasing clouds with highs in the low 40s.

Monday will start off the Christmas week on a milder and rainier note. Extra clouds during the day with some showers moving through beginning in the afternoon and through the night. Highs top out in the mid 40s, and it will be warmer on Tuesday with the damp conditions lingering. Some drizzle or light rain can be expected, but it will be just a tease of what we can expect Wednesday. A major storm system looks to bring heavy rain and strong wind, maybe even some rumbles of thunder! But since we'll be in the 50s, it'll be ALL rain!

Check back later for the next word on a wet & windy Wednesday.
