1/22 CBS2 Thursday Evening Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Hello Everyone,

Today was quite pleasant for the middle of January! We hit 40 degrees in NYC and even milder around the Tri-State.

Tomorrow is another nice day with lots of sun and blue skies. But it's just the calm before a messy storm migrates up the East Coast.

We're expecting a few slushy inches near the coast before much gets washed away by some strong rain. In the interior, some bigger totals are expected.

The bull's eye would be the most northeast portions of our area as of now. A wet 5 inches or so is possible in eastern Putnam, Dutchess, Westchester and Fairfield Counties.

Farther north, lower totals are likely due to the proximity of the low. It looks a bit too far offshore for a major hit.

The northern fringes actually stay cold enough the whole time for all snow. However, a few inches are still possible.

Sunday is fairly quiet, mostly sunny. Monday... another chance for some more significant snow looms.

Check back in soon for an update.
