1/17: CBS2 Saturday Evening Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre Jr, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Brrrr! If you've been out enjoying the weekend so far, you'll have noticed it's COLD! It's going to be a cold evening as well, so bundle up if you have Saturday night plans. Temps actually rise through the night and we'll be above freezing by the time you wake up tomorrow. Expect a soaking rain tomorrow with temps maxing out in the mid/upper 40s, which is above the norm of 38.

There could be some spotty freezing drizzle/rain in the pre-dawn hours before temps jump into the 40s. Even though it would be a trace at most, it still warrants extra travel time if you're out and about early Sunday. Heaviest rain through the rest of the day still looks like east of I-95, clearing the East End of Long Island by 8-10 p.m.

For Martin Luther King Jr. Day, it'll be a few degrees cooler with gradual clearing and a cool northwest breeze of 15-20 mph. We'll have another update later about tomorrow's messy weather!
