1/16 CBS2 Friday Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Hello everyone!

Happy Friday as they say. You might not have to put the extra three layers on your kids this morning!

Lows are starting off in the upper 20s across most of the Tri-State. Winds are not gusting too much either during the morning.

But by 3 to 4 p.m., they start to kick up in intensity and drive temps down into the teens by the time you wake up Saturday morning.

Saturday morning will be cold... very cold. Some single digits will be recorded well north and west. With the chills, temps will feel below zero for some. Temps will only rise into the upper 20s/low 30s.

But overnight Saturday, temps will continue to rise, peaking in the mid 40s by Sunday's end. This warm air also comes with a low-pressure system. The profile looks too mild for snow.

We could see some flakes on the backside overnight Sunday into early Monday. But this is also a ways away.

Please check back in later for an update!
