Good evening,

Today is a transition day in the world of our local weather. Clouds have overwhelmed much of the Tri-State ahead of the approaching cold front, and even the winds are starting to pick up. But we are so very dry at the surface that showers should hold off until overnight -- or even dawn.

The wetter half will be the first half of your day tomorrow, with the morning commute impacted. I don't foresee a lot of flooding, but any wet weather travel is potentially hazardous, so give yourself some extra time leaving tomorrow morning.

The evening commute on Thursday will be better. Rain pushes east and lifts north. We can still see some wrap-around showers tomorrow night, but it will be sporadic in nature. We should receive around 0.5 inches to 1.0 inches, with a few towns getting more in a thunderstorm.

Friday morning will be another cold shot to the face, as winds whip and wind chill values hit the low 40s.
