11/11 CBS2 Tuesday Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS 2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning!

So late last night the National Weather Service issued a frost advisory for Suffolk County, and boy, was that a good call. The pine barrens out near Riverhead are waking up in winter-like temps.

But no worries... today we will soar well above normal and top off in the mid-60s.

Expect some additional clouds by mid-morning ahead of a cold front that will give us some fog and a little rain Wednesday; especially in the morning.

Abnormally cold air that is making its presence felt in the western states nips at us by the end of the week. It will be cold enough that some of the towns north of, say, ROute 84 could see some big wet flakes by Friday morning.

The extended forecast shows temps do not really get out of the 40s. Check back in for a greater analysis of Thursday night's system.
