1/11 CBS2 Sunday Morning Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning everyone,

We're starting off cold again today after overnight lows dipped into the mid to upper teens. After yesterday's frigid highs in the low to mid 20s for most, today definitely will not feel as harsh. Highs will top out around 34 this afternoon in the city under partly sunny skies.

Clouds will be on the increase after sunset as our next round of winter weather moves in during the overnight hours. As of now, it looks like it will start as snow for the far northwest suburbs, with a wintry mess of snow, sleet and even some freezing rain in and around the city. Plan for a very slippery morning commute. As temps rise, this should change to rain for NYC by the lunch hour tomorrow. You'll want to stay tuned today for the latest on this timing.

We clear out for Tuesday with mostly sunny skies, but it will be much colder behind the cold front. Highs will struggle to reach the mid to upper 20s. Looks like we'll finally be back to near normal by the end of the week.

Have a great Sunday and check back soon for updates!
