1/1 CBS2 Thursday Evening Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre Jr, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Happy 2015! While it's been a cold start to the New Year, it ended up being a few degrees warmer than yesterday, which is nice any way ya slice it! Expect mostly clear skies tonight with a low of 30 in the City and teens/20s elsewhere.

Tomorrow will feature another slight bump in temps with plenty of sun and a high near 40 degrees.

Focus still remains on the weekend storm. Saturday morning starts off with clouds moving in and temps hitting a high near 41, and it's not until the late afternoon/early evening that we get things going. Best bet for any snow/sleet/ice would be north of I-84 and really around places like Monticello, Newburgh, and Danbury.

Speaking of the frozen stuff, perhaps 2-3 inches at most before temps torch and everything changes to rain. Temps will actually rise overnight with heavy rain at times into Sunday morning. Gonna be mild Sunday with max temps in the low/mid 50s!
