4/19 CBS2 Sunday Morning Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Sunday morning, folks! It's going to be another lovely day across the area; however, it won't be quite as warm. Starting off the day we have clear skies and cool temps, with many spots in the 30s and 40s, right around 50 in NYC. Expect plenty of sun to be met with some late afternoon and evening clouds. We'll reach a high of 61 degrees today-- nowhere near yesterday's 80, but still pretty nice!

Monday is going to be a day where the umbrella comes in handy and the wipers will be on the highest setting. Rounds of rain will move through due to a frontal system tapping into lots of energy and moisture. Generally speaking, we're looking at 1-2" of rain, some higher amounts in spots possible. Flash flooding is also a possibility, mainly of poor drainage areas and local roads. One "good" thing is our ground is bone dry, so it can handle a heavy rain. Monday looks to be a tad cooler with a high of only 59.

Steady rain is done Monday night, but there could be a few lingering sprinkles Tuesday morning. Sun returns for Tuesday p.m. and Wednesday as we get back into the 60s both days!
