10/3 CBS2 Saturday Afternoon Weather Headlines

Good afternoon, folks! It's a great movie day on this Saturday as we deal with chilly light rain and gusty winds. The rain will be more scattered this afternoon, tapering off to some drizzle tonight. Temps won't climb out of the low to mid 50s.

Big story is the continued threat of moderate to major coastal flooding due to the persistent onshore winds. Coastal Flood Warnings and Advisories are in effect and some continue into tomorrow. Winds will gust up to 50 mph along the coast, with some beach erosion and damage possible. Biggest flooding impacts will be during the high tides this weekend.

Tomorrow is looking much drier, just a spotty shower. We'll get a little warmer, into the upper 50s and low 60s. It will remain windy and the coastal flooding continues. Mostly cloudy skies, but could actually see some peaks of sun!

Latest update on Hurricane Joaquin has it as a strong category 3 with sustained winds of 125 mph. It's FINALLY made that turn to the northeast, headed away from the Bahamas. Unfortunately, it looks to take a path right by Bermuda tomorrow and then continue northeast out to sea, passing about 500 miles or so off our coast on Monday while we see some sunshine.

Next week is looking much more quiet with a lot more bright skies!
