102-Year-Old Massapequa Woman Celebrates Birthday At White Castle

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island woman decided to celebrate her 102nd birthday at a castle...White Castle, that is.

The fast food restaurant inducted Madeleine Turpan of Massapequa into their "Cravers Hall of Fame" as part of the celebration Thursday.

Turpan said she has been eating at the fast food restaurant at least once a month for more than 80 years.

She also let CBS 2 in a on a little secret to having a long, lasting life.

"Eat properly, it's very important," Turpan said. "And this is where the good proper food is, too. One of these days I'll ask them how they make that hamburger but I'll never match it, I could never match it."

Turpan earned her bachelor's degree at the age of 75 and said she also enjoys red wine with her dinner.
