1 Killed In Early Morning Fire In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One person was killed in an early morning house fire in Brooklyn.

It started around 3 a.m. on the first floor of a two-story multi-family home on Bradford Street in Brownsville.

A 75 year-old woman was found unconscious and unresponsive with burn trauma to the body, police said. She was taken to Brookdale Hospital where she died.

A 54-year-old woman was rescued from the second floor and taken to the hospital, police said. She is being treated for smoke inhalation.

Firefighters  were able to put the fire out.

It's not clear what sparked the fire.
