1 Dead After Car Crashes Into Garbage Truck In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One person is dead and two others injured after a BMW crashed into a private garbage truck in Brooklyn.

The car collided with the back of the truck around 1:35 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Utica Avenue and Avenue D.

One passenger in the BMW, identified as 22-year-old Marquis Willis, was killed, police said.

Another passenger was critically injured, and the 26-year-old driver was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition, police said.

Police are looking into filing charges against the driver, CBS 2's Jim Smith reported.

The driver of the sanitation truck and a passenger were not hurt.

The investigation is ongoing.
