Police: Wrong-way driver in custody after causing several crashes on Clearview Expressway

NEW YORK - The driver of a Honda Odyssey was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of the Clearview Expressway Wednesday morning, according to police. 

It then struck three other cars, police said.

Police: Driver in custody after going wrong way on the Clearview

The NYPD says a driver is in custody after driving the wrong way on the Clearview Expressway Wednesday morning. 

It happened around 9:30 a.m. 

The driver was in a Honda Odyssey driving northbound in the southbound lanes. It then struck three other cars, police said. 

One person suffered serious injuries. Other minor injuries were also reported. 

The driver is in custody, though so far no charges have been announced.

It happened near Exit 4 shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday. 

The crash forced the closure of several lanes.
