Woman with gun arrested outside White House

WASHINGTON -- Secret Service agents arrested a woman who was carrying a gun Thursday night outside the White House.

A Secret Service spokesman told CBS News correspondent Mark Knoller the suspect, identified as 23-year-old April Lenhart of Michigan, was walking along the north fence on Pennsylvania Avenue around 8:30 p.m.

Agents saw she had a gun in a holster around her waist, later described as a 9mm handgun, and took her into custody without incident.

The Secret Service said Lenhart was not cooperating with authorities trying to question her.

Lenhart faces charges of possessing an unregistered firearm. Another person who was with her at the time was not arrested.
