Did woman killed in hit-and-run stop to feed homeless?

ANAHEIM, Calif. - A 44-year-old mother of eight killed in a hit-and-run crash in Anaheim, Calif. over the weekend may have stopped to feed homeless people before she was struck, her family says, according to CBS Los Angeles.

Danielle Palacios, of Anaheim, was riding her bicycle when she was hit around 9 p.m. Saturday, according to the Orange County coroner's office.

Anaheim police Lt. Bob Dunn says investigators are searching for the driver of a white pickup truck in connection with the incident.

Dunn says the victim was taken to a hospital and died early Sunday.

Palacios had been on her way to visit a family friend and may have stopped to feed homeless people when she was struck, according to reports.

Palacios' mother, Julie Lopez, told CBS Los Angeles her daughter was once homeless and "never forgot about people in need."

Anyone with information on the hit-and-run driver is asked to call Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS.
