Woman arrested in toddler kidnap attempt in Central Park
NEW YORK - Police say a woman who tried to kidnap a toddler on a playground swing in New York City's Central Park has been arrested.
The 2-year-old was at the playground at about 10:30 a.m. last Tuesday, May 12 with his nanny and his brother, when the woman in her 30's took him from the swing and tried to leave.
Police say the nanny had been pushing the brother in another swing, but ran to the woman, grabbing the boy from the suspect's arms. The 2-year-old was uninjured and the suspect fled.
On Wednesday, police said 35-year-old Cecile Jackson was arrested on charges of attempted kidnapping.
