Winner of Powerball jackpot remains a mystery
MERRIMACK, N.H. - Lottery officials say no one has come forward yet to claim the massive Powerball jackpot. A lone Powerball ticket sold in New Hampshire matched all six numbers for the $559.7 million prize.
The winning Powerball numbers drawn Saturday night were 12-29-30-33-61 and Powerball 26.
The winning ticket was sold at the Reeds Ferry Market in Merrimack, about 25 miles (40 kilometers) south of Concord.
New Hampshire Lottery spokeswoman Maura McCann said no one had come forward as of Monday morning. The winner has one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.
The cash value of the jackpot would be at least $300 million if taken as a lump sum, or the winner could choose to receive the jackpot in 30 annual payments. It's the eighth-largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history.
The store will receive a $75,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
On Friday, a single ticket sold in Florida nabbed a $450 million Mega Millions grand prize. That ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Port Richey, but that winner also remains a mystery as of Monday morning.
The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot was 1 in 302.5 million. Powerball had odds of 1 in 292.2 million. Both games are played in 44 states plus Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Puerto Rico also participates in Powerball.
