Will Garth Brooks announce a world tour this week?

Garth Brooks fans may be in luck because the country superstar appears to be eyeing a major world tour this year -- with details possibly coming this week.

After a successful run in Las Vegas, Brooks revealed last December that he plans to hit the road this year on his first extensive concert tour since 2000.

And this week he announced via his website that a live-streamed press conference is scheduled for Thursday at 12 p.m. ET. No other details have been unveiled yet, but last year, the 52-year-old singer told "Good Morning America" that he's embarking on a world tour in 2014 and that his wife, country star Tricia Yearwood, would likely join him for the trek.

"Our baby's a senior in high school," he said about the timing of the world tour. "We've talked about it and all my babies are fine with it. And Ms. Yearwood is fine with it."
