Will Arnett series "Flaked" lands on Netflix

Will Arnett is stepping up his affiliation with Netflix.

The streaming service has picked his new comedy, "Flaked," which is set to debut in 2016.

The series, set in Venice, California, follows Chip (Arnett), a self-appointed "guru" who "falls for the object of his best friend's fascination."

Arnett, 44, isn't a stranger to Netflix. He voices a character on "BoJack Horseman" and appeared in the most recent season of "Arrested Development," which premiered in 2013.

"We're very excited to partner with Netflix -- the home of original, original content -- and the network I knew would be the ideal home for this passion project," Arnett said in a statement.

"We are thrilled to be the home of Will Arnett's next series, and look forward to Chip joining his repertoire alongside such diverse and inspirational characters such as Gob, Bojack, and Batman," said Cindy Holland, Netflix's vice president of original content.

Arnett voiced a character in "The Lego Movie" and will return for the upcoming sequel. He also appeared in the TV series "The Millers" -- though CBS recently canceled the show.
