Watch: Semi nearly plows into news crew in Seattle

News crew has close call with semi-truck

A Seattle news crew reporting on a truck accident nearly became the victims of another crash.

A KIRO news crew was out on assignment at the on-ramp to I-5 when they were nearly hit by a semi that came barreling down the closed ramp before crashing through a barricade.

KIRO's Jeff Dubois reports that the crew was safely between a road block and road hazard set up after another truck had jackknifed. Just moments after the KIRO photographer tried to wipe rain off the camera lens, the semi whizzed by - missing the photographer by two feet and crashing into the barricade.

The driver told Dubois that he was trying to get around traffic stopped because of the original jackknifed semi, which had spilled 40 gallons of diesel on the road.
