Watch: Derek Jeter says goodbye to New York in touching ad

The soon-to-be-retired Derek Jeter bids farewell to New York in a new commercial for Gatorade.

Shot in black and white and set to Frank Sinatra's "My Way," the ad finds Jeter walking through the streets of New York, saying hello to adults and kids alike. Gatorade blocked off a few streets of the Bronx and let Jeter walk around and surprise fans. It's a touching tribute to the 40-year-old Yankees shortstop.

According to AdWeek, Jeter came up with the treatment for the spot, proposing he be shown thanking Yankees fans. He even chose "My Way" as the track.

Jeter's last Yankees game (unless the team makes the playoffs) is slated for Sept. 28 in Boston.
