Warrant issued for suspect in death of Atlanta civic leader

ATLANTA --Police have identified a suspect in the shooting death of a well-known Atlanta man,reports CBS affiliate WGCL.

A warrant has been issued for Eric Banks, 17, in connection with the April 9 death of Barney Simms, a retired Atlanta Housing Authority executive who was president of the Bonnybrook neighborhood association.

Police released pictures of a man believed to be Banks, seen with Simms at a Waffle House Saturday just before 2 p.m. Detectives believe Simms was shot about half an hour later. He was found in his front yard's hedges at around 6:15 p.m.

Banks should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police.
