Vin Diesel names newborn daughter Pauline, after Paul Walker

Last week, Vin Diesel announced he and longtime girlfriend Paloma Jimenez welcomed their third child. Now, the actor's revealed that he's given the baby -- a girl -- a name that pays tribute to his late friend and "Fast & Furious" co-star, Paul Walker.

"I named her Pauline," he revealed in an interview Monday on the "Today" show.

Diesel said he felt Walker was with him when the baby girl arrived.

"He was in the room," he recalled. "There's no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I just ... knew he was there."

Diesel added, "It felt like a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world."

Walker died in a car crash in November 2013. He'll be seen in the upcoming seventh "Fast & Furious" installment, "Furious 7," alongside Diesel when it arrives in theaters April 3.

At a recent screening of the film, he spoke candidly about Walker, telling the crowd: "I lost my best friend. I lost my brother."
