VIDEO: Did Minn. cop threaten to break teen suspect's leg?

MINNEAPOLIS - Police in Minneapolis are investigating after a cellphone video surfaced in which an officer is allegedly heard threatening a teenage suspect, reports CBS Minnesota.

Seventeen-year-old Faysal Mohamed says the video -- recorded on March 18 -- shows an officer talking to Mohamed's friend after they were pulled over.

In the video, a voice is heard saying, "Plain and simple, if you f*** with me I'm going to break your leg before you even get a chance to run. Be honest. I don't screw around."

Mohamed's friend is then heard saying, "Who said I was going to run?"

"I'm just giving you a heads up. I'm trying to be Officer Friendly right now," the other voice is heard saying.

According to CBS Minnesota, when Mohamed's friend asks the officer why he is being arrested, the officer replied, "Because I feel like arresting you."

Mohamed told the station police held them for 45 minutes while they searched their car and did background checks.

Officers later told the teens they were suspected of stealing a car, but all four were let go without being arrested, according to CBS Minnesota.

The officer who allegedly made the threat is not seen, only heard, in the video.

Mohamed says he and three other friends had just left a YMCA in south Minneapolis when police pulled over their car. He said they were told to get out and were put in handcuffs, reports the station.

When contacted by CBS Minnesota, the YMCA said they had no record of Mohamed being there on the day in question.

The station reports that the Minneapolis Police Department released a statement saying that the video is under investigation and that complaints against officers are taken very seriously.
