Woman killed in Utah grocery store's industrial mixer

SALT LAKE CITY -- A woman was killed after she was pulled into a grocery store's industrial mixer outside Salt Lake City, CBS affiliate KUTV reports.

Police said Carmen "Jackie" Lindhart was working at a bakery mixer at a Reams Food store in Sandy, Utah, when she was pulled into the mixer Wednesday.

A co-worker heard her screaming, ran to the machine and shut it off, but the augers didn't immediately power down, police said.

Lindhart died on the scene from her injuries. The accident happened around 10 a.m.

Sandy Police Sgt. Dean Carriger told KUTV that it doesn't appear that there was any criminal element to the death.

Police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating.
