Tyson Foods recalls chicken wings for "off odor"

U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service

Over 52,000 pounds of Tyson chicken wings are being recalled due to "possible adulteration," the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

The problem was discovered when Tyson Foods Inc. received complaints that the fully cooked buffalo style chicken had an "off odor," and some consumers reported symptoms of mild illness.

The affected product was shipped to stores nationwide.

The recall involves 28-oz. bags containing "Tyson Anytizers Fully Cooked Hot Wings" that are "coated with a flavorful hot, tangy sauce." The packages have use by/sell by dates of October 24, 2016 and October 25, 2016, packaging dates 2975PBF0508-23/2985PBF0500-01 and case codes 2975PBF0508 23/2985PBF0500-01.

The establishment number "P-13456" can be found inside the USDA mark of inspection and on the back of the bag above the cooking instructions.

FSIS urges consumers who have purchased these products not to consume them and either throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. If you are concerned about an injury or illness connected to this product, contact your doctor.
