Two slashed in N.Y. bus terminal in NYE fight

NEW YORK - Two people were slashed in a New Year’s Eve knife fight in New York’s Port Authority terminal, just blocks from the Times Square ball drop event, reports CBS New York.

The fight happened around 8:50 p.m., hours before the city rang in the new year.

The station reports the fight happened on the terminal’s main concourse near the ticket counter, and involved three people who knew each other. One of the three reportedly injured the other two, with one of the victims cut in the back of the head and the other cut in the abdomen.

The victims were reportedly two men, 61 and 47. They were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A Port Authority spokesman described the injuries as “lacerations rather than stabs,” reports the New York Times.

CBS New York reports that police haven’t made an arrest, but have identified the suspect.

The station was reportedly placed on lockdown during the incident, with no one allowed in or out. It later re-opened.
