Two police officers shot in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — Two police officers and a civilian were shot on Friday night in West Philadelphia, reportsCBS Philly.

Police said a female sergeant with the Philadelphia police was injured along with a male officer from the University of Pennsylvania in the incident, which took place a few blocks from the Penn campus.

CBS Philly reports that the male officer was shot in the hand and that the woman was shot several times directly into her vest, citing sources.

Both officers were taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital and are in stable condition, police said.

Police earlier said a suspect was in custody, but CBS Philly reports the suspect was shot and killed.

Police continue to search for a possible second suspect, CBS Philly reports.
