Triple shooting in New Jersey leaves 1 dead

NEWARK, N.J. - One person is dead and two people have been injured in a shooting in Newark, a day after two other shootings left two people dead and three wounded.

Authorities say two people are in stable condition at a hospital after a shooting around 7 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of South 20th Street. A third was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Around 9 p.m. Saturday, 23-year-old Zaire Williams of Irvington was found dead from a gunshot wound in the 700 block of South 20th Street.

About 2 ½ hours later, police found four shooting victims on South Orange Avenue about a mile and a half away. Thirty-six-year-old Lisa Parker of Orange was pronounced dead. The other three are in stable condition.

Police don't know if the shootings are related.
