Trevor Noah calls Trump win “the end of the world”

“Daily Show” host Trevor Noah had a hard time keeping the tone light while covering the presidential election results.

The Comedy Central mainstay broadcasted live Tuesday night, starting at 11 p.m. EST, taking in state poll numbers as they came in, and when the show began Donald Trump was in the lead.

“This is it, the end of the presidential race, and it feels like the end of the world,” he said. “I don’t know if you came to the right place for jokes tonight, because this is the first time throughout this entire race where I’m officially s***ting my pants. I genuinely do not understand how America can be this disorganized or this hateful.”

The usually jovial Noah admitted that as breaking news came in, “the news is just breaking me.”

And while Noah couldn’t get his show’s usual raucous tone going Tuesday night, he did leave things with a hopeful message.
