Tommy Lee Jones joins next "Bourne" film

Tommy Lee Jones has signed on for the next "Bourne" movie.

Variety reports that the 68-year-old actor is joining Matt Damon, Viggo Mortensen, Alicia Vikander and Julia Stiles in the action film.

Paul Greengrass is back to direct and has teamed with Christopher Rouse to write the script. The as-yet-untitled film is expected out next year.

This will be the fifth movie in the "Bourne" franchise. It also marks the third time Damon and Greengrass have worked together on a "Bourne" film. They were both absent from the last "Bourne" installment, 2012's "The Bourne Legacy," which starred Jeremy Renner and Edward Norton.

Jones was recently seen "The Homesman" and Lincoln." He'll next star with Kevin Costner in the upcoming thriller "Criminal."
