Conflicting reports as decision nears on Tom Brady's retirement

Within two hours of ESPN reporting that Tom Brady was planning to retire, new reports called the timeline of that decision into question.

The NFL Network's Mike Giardi said on Twitter that Brady's father, Tom Brady Sr., told him that his son has not come to a decision yet about the future of his career. The Associated Press cited sources saying that Brady had also told the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that he hadn't made up his mind.

CBS News had reported earlier that Brady was planning to announce his retirement, citing ESPN.

Still, numerous sources close to Brady tell CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora they expect him to retire shortly. Several sources who are within Brady's inner circle anticipate that he will most likely reveal his future plans in the coming days, CBS Sports reported.
