Tom Bergeron to miss "Dancing with the Stars" because of ailing dad

Tom Bergeron has decided to put family first, announcing Sunday that he won't appear on Monday's episode of "Dancing with the Stars" so he can spend time with his ailing father.

The longtime "DWTS" host posted a photo of himself and his dad on Twitter along with the announcement: "I'll miss 2morrow's #dwts to be at my Dad's bedside. He's given me a lifetime of support. Time to return the favor."

It didn't take long to find a replacement. Former "DWTS" champ Alfonso Ribeiro of "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" fame announced he would be taking Bergeron's place. "I will be filling in for Tom Bergeron tomorrow night on Dancing With The Stars. I will be there with a heavy heart for my friend Tom and the Bergeron family," the season 19 winner wrote on Facebook.

"Dancing with the Stars" (in its 21st season) airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
