Toddler among 7 people shot in Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA -- Police said a gunman opened fire on a block party in West Philadelphia Saturday night, leaving seven people injured, including an 18-month-old and a 10-year-old.
CBS affiliate KYW-TV reported the shooting happened just before 10 p.m. in the Mantua section of the city.
The youngest victim was hit in the neck, according to police, and was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia along with the older child.
The others, who ranged in age from 15 to 25, were taken to a different hospital. Police would not specify their conditions but said all were believed to be stable.
Police believed the suspect was armed with a shotgun and fired into the crowd at random. No arrests had been made.
