Crackdown

Turkey is clamping down on foreigners seeking to cross its border to join ISIS in Syria, reports CBS News correspondent Holly Williams. This, as a newly-released report shows at least 23,000 foreigners have joined ISIS since 2011. The fighters are from more than 100 countries, and more than 250 of them are American.

New credit cards

Have you received your new chip-enabled credit cards? If the answer is no, you're not alone. Most Americans have yet to get the so-called EMV cards despite an Oct. 1 deadline to begin replacing old-school magnetic-stripe plastic with the more secure chip-based cards. But here's what you'll need to know about them once they arrive.

"Card cracking" scams

Consumers should beware of online scams, often disguised as promotions on social media, that promise easy money in exchange for allowing fraudsters to deposit phony checks in their bank account.

Surprise success

Launched more than three decades ago, the "My Little Pony" line of toys for adults has become an unexpected hit for Hasbro, spawning a movie, TV series and an annual convention that draws thousands of "bronies," as the plastic ponies' devoted fans are called.
