Flight 8501
Indonesian officials say searchers spotted bodies today from the AirAsia flight that disappeared Sunday, and CBS News correspondent Allen Pizzey reports the bodies were found in Java Sea waters about 6 miles from where the pilots of Flight 8501 last communicated with air-traffic control.
Airline entrepreneur
Tony Fernandes, the chief executive of AirAsia, was part of a group of investors who bought the money-losing airline from the Malaysian government in 2001 for about 25 cents. But today, Fernandes is calling the disappearance of AirAsia Flight 8501 his worst nightmare.
Storms and planes
The disappearance of AirAsia Flight 8501 is refocusing attention on weather-related issues that have contributed to commercial airline crashes in the past. Among them, malfunctions caused by ice and very violent weather that planes can experience at high altitudes. CBS News correspondent Don Dahler reports on how dangerous flying can get when the weather is bad.
Fukushima radiation
There have long been concerns that water laced with the radioactive materials Cesium-137 and Cesium-134 from the Fukushima nuclear power plant would make the 5,000 mile trip across the Pacific Ocean. A National Academy of Sciences study confirms that it has arrived.
Drinking all night
It's nearly time to break out the champagne for the final toasts of 2014. Celebratory drinks to ring in the New Year are a time-tested tradition, but one that leaves many people stuck in bed with a hangover the morning after. Thankfully, there's plenty you can do to avoid overdoing it but still have fun.
