There's no truth to Robert Redford death reports

Robert Redford is alive and well, folks.

The 79-year-old actor fell victim to a death hoax on Thursday, stemming from a tweet via Britain's Sky Breaking News.

His publicist Cindi Berger, though, cleared things up right away, releasing this statement to Reuters: "This is a sick hoax. I just spoke to him and there is no truth to this whatsoever." She added that he was at home and fine.

Redford is behind the upcoming Sundance Film Festival, which kicks off Jan. 21.
