"The Killing" season 4 trailer debuts

Seattle homicide detectives Linden and Holder aren't exactly following the buddy cop formula in the new trailer for the fourth and final season of "The Killing."

In the teaser clip released Wednesday, the lead characters find themselves arguing over how to carry on following the events of the season 3 finale. With literal blood on her hands, Linden (Mireille Enos) has been questioning the ethics of their recent actions while Holder (Kinneman) just wants to move forward.

"No one's going to find out," he tells her in the new trailer.

"The Killing" follows a different mystery from season to season and this year will focus on the murders of an entire family, save for one member (Tyler Ross), who happens to now be the prime suspect.

In addition to Ross, Joan Allen is also among the actors slated to join the cast for this farewell season.

The series launched in 2011 and was initially cancelled by AMC after two seasons. The cable network then backtracked and aired a third season in 2013, before officially canceling the series yet again.

Netflix then picked up "The Killing" in November for a fourth and final season.

Enos has previously received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her performance.

All 13 episodes of the final season of "The Killing" will be released Aug. 1 on Netflix. The first three seasons are now available to watch via the online streaming service.
