Taye Diggs reveals what he loves doing the most

Taye Diggs has been entertaining audiences for nearly two decades - movies, TV and Broadway, he does it all.

This season he is guest-starring alongside Juliana Margulies as attorney Dean Levine-Wilkins on the Emmy-winning CBS drama "The Good Wife."

"It's an honor whenever anyone's interested in you," Diggs said Thursday on "CBS This Morning."

In his feature film debut, Diggs jumped off the screen as young Winston Shakespeare, an islander who pursues a woman 20 years his senior in "How Stella Got Her Groove Back."

But his talents were first recognized on Broadway.

In 1996, he played Benny the landlord in the award-winning musical "Rent."

He reprises the role in the 2005 film adaptation along with five of other original cast members.

For his role on "The Good Wife," the award-winning actor admitted he took the job before even learning about his character on the show.

"Obviously the writing on that show is some of the best in the business, so I trusted them," Diggs said.

Diggs said it's also been a dream of his to be a working actor in New York City.

"To be able to go to work and then pick my kid up from school and then take him to Broadway shows, it's just, everything's cool," Diggs said.

Diggs' character on "The Good Wife" is a "hot-to-trot lawyer" as he puts it - and he's right in the middle of the action.

But recently, Diggs' personal life was in the middle of the headlines.

After 10 years of marriage, he and then-wife Idina Menzel parted ways.

"I just feel like there's so much pressure put on relationships," Diggs said. "And the longer a relationship lasts, the more pressure there is for you to stay together and the more upset people are when you split."

But Diggs said there's something that people don't really know about him.

"Chocolate Me"

"I do like to choreograph dances," Diggs said. "... That's what I love doing the most."

He's also written two children's books, "Chocolate Me" and "Mixed Me."

Diggs continues to impress his co-stars in addition to screaming fans.

Kate Walsh and Audra McDonald described him as "fantastic" and "funny." And "The Best Man" co-stars Nia Long and Sanaa Lathan said he is "sexy-silly" and "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious."

"I need to carry y'all in my back pocket," Diggs said to the "CBS This Morning" co-hosts. "This is good therapy."
