Time for a look ahead at some of what the new season has to offer . . .


Already on view at New York's Brooklyn Museum: "Killer Heels: The Art of the High-Heeled Shoe," an exhibition of more than 160 pairs of what the museum calls "fashion's most provocative accessory."


The exhibition continues through February 15, 2015.

Tuesday is the release date for "Girls" star Lena Dunham's much-anticipated new book, "Not That Kind of Girl," described as a kind of personal memoir disguised as a how-to book on how to survive the perils of modern-day young womanhood.


Fresh from the London stage. the award-winning play "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" officially premieres on Broadway October 5th.

It's the dramatic adaptation of Mark Haddon's best-selling novel about a teenage boy with social difficulties who's accused of killing a neighbor's dog.

And on October 21st, the Allman Brothers Band kick off what they say are their final live shows . . . with a run of six performances at New York's Beacon Theater, winding up on October 28th.
