Texas strip club murder suspect caught in Mexico

HOUSTON - An ex-security guard accused of killing a pregnant woman at a strip club in Houston was arrested in a resort city in Mexico, reports CBS affiliate KHOU. Houston police told the station that the suspect confessed to the crime after he was apprehended.

According to KHOU, 23-year-old Osvaldo Fernandez-Aguilar was brought back to Houston from Cancun, Mexico on Thursday by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force. He is charged with capital murder in the March 22 death of 27-year-old Maria Lucrecia.

Authorities claim that Fernandez-Aguillar broke into the Eclipse Gentleman's Club in southwest Houston after it was closed and that Lucrecia, a janitor, was in the building at the time. The suspect - a former security guard at the club - allegedly killed the victim and stole about $1,000 in cash from the register. A warrant was issued for his arrest on Monday.

Investigators credited a photo that was released to the media in helping to identify the suspect. KHOU reports that the subsequent investigation led authorities to Mexico, where the arrest was made.

The victim's family told the station that Lucrecia was five months pregnant when she was killed. She also had a 6-year-old son.

More details are expected to be released Friday.
